The German Ordinance on Evaporative Cooling Systems, Cooling Towers and Wet Separators (42nd BImSchV) came into force on August 19, 2017. It is based on the VDI cooling tower rules (VDI 2047 Sheet 2) and makes them binding. It also provides recommendations for the installation and operation of evaporative cooling systems, cooling towers and wet separators.
